Yetter's was a local department store located at 115 & 117 East Washington Street, downtown Iowa City. It closed in the 1950s. First postcard sent to Eva Weimer, postmarked September 26, 1921, George Washington 1-cent stamp. Second postcard sent from Chris Yetter to Mr. and Mrs. Harold Yetter, postmarked January 6, 1947, Iowa Statehood Centennial 3-cent stamp. Third postcard sent from Yetter's to Mrs. F.J. Glick, postmarked April 8, 1925.

In the 1910 Census, Winfield Hughes was listed as being born about 1852 in Pennsylvania. He was a widow, living alone at 804 Iowa Avenue. He ran Hughes Music Store at 108 South Clinton Street, as listed in the 1908 City Directory.
The attached article, about the theft of Hughes's horse Major, was published in the Daily Iowa State Press on May 17, 1902.
The attached ad was published in the Iowa City Daily Press on June 15, 1912.

In the 1910 Census, W. J. McDonald was listed as a general practice lawyer. Born in 1873, his wife was named Margery, and their children were named Mary and Richard. The family had a servant named Laura Lincoln. His brother was named Timothy, also a lawyer. W. J. McDonald’s home address was listed as 306 North Dubuque St. In the 1908 City Directory, his address was listed as 720 S. Lucas, with an office address as 106 ½ East Washington Street.

Willard F. Main ran a jewelry and stationary business at 127 ½ Dubuque Street. His home was listed as East Iowa City in the 1908 City Directory. The 1909 City Directory lists him at Garden and Friendship. The company began as W. F. Main Co. in 1888. He later sold the business and it was renamed Puritan Mfg. Co. The factory was on Friendship Street. The 1909 City Directory lists him at Garden and Friendship. According to the 1910 Census, his wife was named Jeanette R., and they had two daughters, Ruth J. and Mary L. He was born about 1860 in Minnesota.
The attached article was published in the Iowa City Daily Press on April 25, 1905. The bankruptcy article comes from the June 6, 1911, issue of the Iowa City Citizen. The Iowa State Press published the "East Iowa City" article on April 13, 1899.
